Small Town Traditions: Yoakum County’s Annual Watermelon Round Up Festival

Sincerely Casey takes you on an adventure through the 2018 Watermelon Round-Up in Plains, TX. A rural small town 6 hours west of Dallas where tumbleweeds, dirt devils, and people saying things like “fixing’ to” are quite common. Come along for the annual pilgrimage to small town, USA to enjoy a festival filled with all you can eat locally grown watermelon, pet some cute animals, listen to live music, dance in the middle of town square, and put your skills to the test in the seed spittin’ contest! The best part about it all?… it’s free!
